Put aluminium foil in your freezer: The surprisingly useful kitchen hack people swear by

Table of Content

Here’s where it’s worth being honest rather than just going along with the hype. In practice, this trick tends to fall short of the viral promise, since foil tears easily and often doesn’t stay properly in place once frost starts forming against it, which tends to create more mess rather than less. In real freezers, that means you can still end up with frost forming on exposed walls and shelves anyway, plus loose, torn foil to clean up on top of it. It’s also not a fix for the actual cause of frost buildup, a worn door seal, an incorrect temperature setting, or a freezer that isn’t kept sufficiently full will keep producing frost no matter how much foil you line the walls with.
