R Madhavan’s ‘GDN’ is now heading to OTT after its theatrical run. The biographical drama will begin streaming on Netflix from September 4. The film will also be available in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, giving the story of inventor GD Naidu a wider audience across India. R Madhavan leads a strong cast in the GD Naidu biopic
Madhavan plays the title role and has also backed the film as a producer along with his wife Sarita. The collaboration marks another biographical project involving the production house and the actor after the 2022 film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.’ ‘GDN’ also features Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Thambi Ramaiah, Priyamani and Dushara Vijayan in important roles.

‘GDN’ was released in theatres on August 7 alongside Arun Matheswaran’s DC, starring Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi. However, the film did not achieve the expected results at the box office. According to a trade report by Sacnilk, it grossed around Rs 6.32 crore worldwide. While its theatrical journey remained limited, the Netflix release could give Madhavan’s film a fresh start. More importantly, the digital platform may bring renewed attention to the extraordinary life and legacy of GD Naidu, whose story remains at the heart of ‘GDN.’
