Yo Yo Honey Singh finally appears before Maharashtra Cyber after skipping earlier summons, questioned for TWO HOURS over alleged objectionable concert remarks

Rapper and music producer Yo Yo Honey Singh, whose real name is Hirdesh Singh, appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Friday, October 16. He was questioned over alleged objectionable remarks he made during a concert. After recording his statement for about two hours, he left the office under tight security.

Honey Singh finally turns up for questioning

According to the ANI report, the singer had earlier asked the Cyber Cell to let him appear on October 22 instead. The agency turned down this request and asked him to come in on the original date. Honey Singh’s appearance comes after weeks of missed dates and growing pressure from the authorities.

Why was Honey Singh summoned?

The summons followed a complaint filed by a person who objected to remarks the rapper allegedly made while performing at a concert. Acting on the complaint, Maharashtra Cyber asked him to come in for questioning. Officials have said the matter is still under investigation, and more details are awaited.

Earlier summons and the Look Out Circular warning

According to Maharashtra Cyber sources, Honey Singh did not come forward even after being summoned three times. He reportedly said he could not appear because he was abroad. He had also asked for more time after skipping the questioning scheduled for October 5.A senior Maharashtra Cyber official had warned that the process to issue a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him could begin if he skipped the latest summons too. Sources had also said he was summoned again for questioning.

Delhi High Court hearing on the song

This is not the first legal matter linked to the rapper. During a hearing on April 2, the Delhi High Court bench said that a song of his was highly vulgar, obscene and derogatory towards women and that it treated women as sex objects.Advocate Rupali Panwar argued that the track is easily available on social media platforms, even to young children, which could harm them. She said it should be removed at once from all social media platforms, YouTube and sharing platforms. It was also submitted that Honey Singh sang two lines from the song at a public concert at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on March 1, 2025.
