Anvay Dravid and Aaryavir Sehwag

Sons of former India cricketers Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag, Anvay Dravid and Aaryavir Sehwag, have been named in India’s squad for the upcoming ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup.The tournament will be held in Muscat, Oman, from November 5 to 14. The 17-year-old Anvay and 19-year-old Aaryavir earned their places after impressive performances in the recently concluded Vinoo Mankad Trophy.Both youngsters have been among the top performers in the domestic U19 competition and will now get an opportunity to represent India at the continental tournament.

Anvay, Aaryavir impress with the bat

Anvay, who represents Karnataka, has been in excellent form. He played a stunning knock of 151 off just 100 balls against Gujarat earlier this month, helping his team chase down a target of more than 300 runs.He had also impressed during India’s Youth ODI tour of Sri Lanka in July, scoring 87 off 67 balls against the hosts at Hambantota.Aaryavir, meanwhile, has also made a strong impression with his batting. Representing Delhi, he smashed 173 off 143 balls against Chandigarh in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy at Vizianagaram.The two youngsters will now look to carry their good form into the U19 Asia Cup.

India placed in Group A with Pakistan

India will be led by Lakshya Raichandani in the tournament. They have been placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, Nepal and the UAE.Group B features Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Malaysia.The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.

India’s U19 Asia Cup schedule

India will begin their campaign against Nepal on November 6 before taking on arch-rivals Pakistan two days later. They will play their final group-stage match against the UAE on November 10.
