Actress Meghana Raj Sarja has opened up about the condition she set before agreeing to act in Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer 2.’ The actress said she wanted to share screen space with the Superstar instead of being included in the film merely as a background presence. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the action sequel also features Kannada star Shivarajkumar, marking Meghana’s first on-screen collaboration with him. Following the film’s release on October 15, the actress shared behind-the-scenes pictures on Instagram and spoke about her experience. Her comments have now offered a closer look at how she came on board the Rajinikanth-starrer and what the opportunity meant to her.
Meghana Raj reveals her condition
Speaking about her conversation with Rednool, Meghana Raj said she wanted clarity about her character before accepting the offer. “I asked her only one question. If I say yes, you have to be very open about my character. Will you use me as a set property, or will I be in the frame with Rajini sir?” she recalled. The actress said she did not want to accept the role without knowing how her character would be presented. She then decided to check the offer with her father, asking him to contact Shivarajkumar and confirm whether the person who approached her was genuinely associated with the project. After getting the details verified, she agreed to be part of the film.
Meghana Raj says she worked for 35 days on ‘Jailer 2’
Meghana Raj also revealed that her work on ‘Jailer 2’ involved 35 days of shooting spread over nearly a year. She acknowledged that some portions featuring her were eventually trimmed during the editing process. “There are some portions that are trimmed. I can proudly say that I have worked in ‘Jailer 2’ for 35 days,” the actress said while discussing her experience. Despite the cuts, her statement shows the time and effort she invested in the project. Her role also brought her together with Shivarajkumar for the first time, adding another special milestone to her career.

Earlier in her Instagram post, Meghana Raj expressed happiness about being part of a film that connects with Karnataka audiences. “’Jailer 2′ has a very special connect with Karnataka, and getting an opportunity to act opposite our Shivanna was a blessing indeed,” she wrote. She added that working with Shivarajkumar for the first time was a memorable experience and praised his warm presence on set. “The minute he walked in on the sets, I felt I was home! That is his aura! Having Geethakka on sets was such a pleasure!” she said.Meghana Raj also praised stunt choreographer Chethan D’Souza for his work on the action sequences. For the actress, ‘Jailer 2’ was more than another film credit, as it gave her an opportunity to work alongside Rajinikanth and share the screen with one of Kannada cinema’s biggest stars.
