It seems, in recent years, the pendulum has swung back and, in the working world, the 8 hour day is no longer a great deal to dream of. Meetings begin early in the morning and information does not stop after office hours and it doesn’t go away after deadlines. When working long hours regularly, it will begin to affect all aspects of your physical being, relationship, mental state and routine.

It’s more than the time you’re working at a desk. A long working day can be a challenge to a good night’s sleep or maintaining an active lifestyle, eating nutritious meals, connecting with others or recovering. These compromises can mount up over time, shares Dr. Sameer Bhati.
