There is something special about travelling through India by train. You watch busy cities give way to open fields, wake up to unfamiliar stations, and sometimes end up having conversations with people you may never meet again.
But long-distance train travel also has its own little challenges. Some mistakes are easy to make when you are unfamiliar with the route, the coach or the way things work on a long journey.
