The Chihuahua is arguably the most recognisable of the tiny breeds, typically weighing between 1.5 to 3 kg, which makes an already small footprint in a flat. They’re alert, loyal, and don’t need much space to feel exercised, making short indoor play sessions and brief walks sufficient for most of their energy needs. Chihuahuas do get attached to their owners quickly and can be wary of strangers, so early socialisation helps. Because of their tiny size, they’re also more sensitive to cold, so a light sweater during Indian winters isn’t a bad idea.
